Located within the Laffite’s Cove
subdivision, the 35-acre nature preserve is a popular
destination for birders. The public park has a paved nature
trail with markers identifying the numerous native trees and
plants. A raised gazebo overlooks a shimmering pond where
countless waterfowl can be observed. Deep in the preserve,
stately live oaks create a shaded canopy. The springtime
migration is a not-to-be-missed event for ardent birdwatchers
and novices alike. The entrance to the Laffite’s Cove Nature
Preserve is located on Eckert Drive, near Stewart and ll-Mile
Road.
