No first time visitors to Galveston should miss this overview of the devastating hurricane of September 8, 1900. The deadliest natural disaster in United States history, the storm hit the Island with winds over 120 miles an hour and a 20-foot tidal surge. Over 6,000 people died and one-third of the city was completely destroyed. The 27-minute multi-image documentary gives actual accounts from letters and diaries of survivors during and after the storm.
